Automation is the art of manufacturing products with a minimum of manual intervention, at high quality and at low cost. All departments/trades should therefore be perfectly coordinated with each other. EDAG PS achieves this high level of automation through the use of modern innovative tools, experience, the technology of the digital factory, and virtual commissioning.

The main sectors of automation are:

We will take care of the electrical design, including PLC and robot programming for your lines and equipment according to your specifications, and by close networking with mechanical engineering we will ensure a high level of efficiency, quality and quantity. This includes:

  • Hardware design: Generation of the complete wiring diagram documentation, mounting plans for switch cabinets, cable and network routing maps with the associated parts lists.

  • Software design: PLC sequence and safety programming, configuring of visualization devices, field bus and network structures, drive technology and intelligent sensors and actuators from different manufacturers.

  • Robot programming: Virtual or real with robots from various suppliers and OEMs.

  • Virtual commissioning: PLC and robot programs created for the lines will be tested, and all their functions will be validated before the actual commissioning starts.

  • Setup of the entire control technical and safety PLC, bus and visualization components, as well as the interfaces to the cross-plant systems

  • Real commissioning, project management & documentation

MONITORING AND CONTROL TECHNOLOGY – THE IT-TECHNOLOGY BEHIND PRODUCTION

Automated lines require suitable monitoring and control technology. We will gladly take over the design/concept, planning and implementation of a new control system, and the migration or even functional expansion of existing lines.

In our team, automation technicians work hand in hand with software developers to plan and implement end-to-end control concepts.

We are proficient in production management and control systems such as SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and MES (Manufacturing Execution System), which read out and process data from the equipment control systems and then connect them to ERP systems (Enterprise Resource Planning), which control and process jobs commercially.
